Local legend returns from AFL Wheelchair Open

The team qualified for Division 1 of the competition and ended up in 6th place.

This year's WA State team included for the first time local Capel resident Paul Whitehurst.


Paul who is a below the knee amputee plays for the West Coast Eagles up in the Perth league and has been driving up every Sunday to compete.


Paul is the President of the Wheelchair Sports South West Inc. and would like to let anyone, living with a disability or not, who may be interested in giving Wheelchair AFL ago to get in contact with the club and register your interest at wheelchairsportssw@gmail.com


Wheelchair Sports SW will be running some come and try days early next year and are planning on starting a SWWFL being played at South West Sports Centre. They will supply all wheelchairs and equipment.
