Harvest and Vehicle Movements Bans in place for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

The Shire of Capel has declared Harvest and Vehicle Movements Bans on the following days:

• Christmas Day, 25 December, Boxing Day, 26 December and New Year's Day, 1 January - the whole day, from midnight to midnight

Harvest and Vehicle Movement Bans are issued by your local government and are put in place when your local Bushfire Control Officer identifies the use of engines, vehicles, plants or machinery as high bushfire risk activities, during particular times of the day.

🎄The Shire Administration Building and Capel and Boyanup Libraries will be closed from 12 noon on Tuesday, 24 Dec and reopening at 8.30 am on Thursday, 2 Jan.🎄

Waste Transfer Station Holiday Hours

• Tuesday, 24th December: Closing early at 12:00 PM

• 27th to 31st December: Open as usual

• 25th, 26th Dec and 1st & 2nd January: Closed for the public holidays.

Emails will not be actively monitored and responded to until we return in the New Year.

Emergency work requests will still be received and actioned on a priority basis by contacting our Call Centre on (08) 9727 0222.

Sports Participation Scheme Recipients- Jess Babich and Jorja Horsfall

We are always thrilled to see our community members hitting goals in their chosen passion!

Jess Babich is the latest recipient of the Shire's Sports Participation Scheme with Jorja Horsfall receiving scheme support previously for Underwater Hockey competitions.

Jess (right) and Jorja (left), proudly represented Australia at the U19's Women’s Underwater Hockey World Championship held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Their hard work and dedication paid off as they emerged victorious, securing the gold medal by defeating the formidable team from France!

This Sports Participation Scheme extends its support to all residents of the Shire of Capel, offering them the opportunity to receive up to $350 to assist with expenses incurred while competing in high-level sports competitions.
