Proposed Offshore Wind Area - Indian Ocean - Off the Bunbury Geographe region, Western Australia.

The Australian Government is seeking your feedback on a proposed offshore wind area in the Indian Ocean off Bunbury through to Busselton, Western Australia.
Feedback will help inform the Commonwealth Minister’s decision on whether the proposed area is suitable for offshore wind development.
The Shire of Capel is ensuring that the community are informed and aware of the Australian Government's public consultation process.
The proposal for an offshore wind area off the Bunbury Geographe region of WA - opened for public consultation on 20 February 2024 and is due to close on 3 May 2024.
This is the first opportunity to provide feedback on:
- whether the area is suitable for offshore wind; and
- what you think this industry may mean for the region, including potential interactions with other marine users and interests.
Community drop-in sessions will be held by DCCEEW from March 19 to 21 to learn about the Australian Government’s process and the proposed area.
