Helicopter Mosquito Treatment

The Shire of Capel will take advantage of a window of weather conditions conducive to conducting the first mosquito control helicopter treatment today.
Adult mosquito trap numbers have been closely monitored and larval monitoring began earlier this month.
Granular larvicide is dispersed into the edges of mosquito-breeding water bodies along our coastal wetlands (not over any residential property).
The aim is to reduce numbers at the start of the breeding season prior to any virus isolation to assist in reduction at peak times.
