Shire residents have the opportunity to chat with Officers about the modified Local Structure Plan, known as Greenpatch, Dalyellup which is advertised for public comment until February 16.
There will be two consultation sessions, at the Dalyellup Community Centre, to allow residents to discuss the proposal one-on-one with Shire of Capel officers.
Session 1: Wednesday, January 31 – 4pm to 7pm
Session 2: Thursday, February 1 – 9am to 12pm
Capel Shire Council chief executive officer Paul Sheedy said this was not a formal town hall meeting, instead an opportunity for people to talk about the proposal with officers informally.
When the proposed plan for Lots 9105, 9076 and 8019 Dalyellup Estate were initially advertised in February/March 2017, the Capel Shire Council received more than 120 individual submissions from local residents and a 727-signature petition objecting to the proposal.
In response to resident concerns, the density of housing has been reduced and to minimise bushfire risk, a new road from Hutt Drive has been identified.
The advertising of the modifications closes on February 16, after which time the Shire will consider all submissions before making its recommendation to the Western Australian Planning Commission on whether the proposal should be approved or refused.
Mr Sheedy said the final decision on whether the proposal will be approved or refused lies with the Western Australian Planning Commission and not the Shire of Capel.
