Building Surveyor

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified building surveyor to join our Engineering and Development Services team. Reporting to the Manager of Building and Health Services this is an integral role undertaking duties and delegations associated with the building surveyor portfolio. The core functions of this role are to undertake assessment, processing and approval of building and development applications, and provision of advice to the public, complying with relevant legislation and Council Policy.

Sustainability & Waste Officer

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Engineering and Development Services team. Working across our organisation you will be responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of a Sustainability and Climate Change Strategic Plan and raising the profile of Sustainability and Climate Change issues throughout the Shire. In addition, you will oversee and administer the Shires waste management responsibilities, including the waste collection contracts, audits, licensing and associated customer liaison.

Cleaner (Casual)

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced occupational cleaners to join our Building and Health Services team in delivering cleaner services initially for the Shire of Capel administration building and Peppermint Grove Beach Community Centre. The position is casual, approximately 23 hours per fortnight, to cover staff leave between 1 March and 31 May 2018. There may be some flexibility over working days/hours, as a guide they will be scheduled for Wednesday and Friday evenings, as well as Fridays during the day.

Community Development Trainee

The Shire of Capel is seeking expressions of interest from community minded and passionate individuals to join our Community Services team on a 12-month traineeship. This rare opportunity will kick start your career in Community Development, providing on the job training and hands on experience with youth development and event coordination, to achieve a Certificate III or higher in Community Development or a related field.
