The Inzone school holiday program runs every school holidays and we are always looking for new activities, ideas and places to go. The program is for 10 to 17 year olds who live in the Shire of Capel. The idea of the program is to engage youth in the community and combat some of that holiday boredom. The cost of all activities is subsidised by more than half and we try to keep the cost as minimal as possible so every one can take part. If you have any activity suggestions please email the Youth Development Officer.
Some of the places we have been to this year include: Forest Adventures South West, Yallingup Maze, Gravity ETC and Ngilgi Cave in Margaret River.

SCRAP BATTLE – January 8 and 9
To kick things off youth can get involved in the Shire’s first Scrap Battle Sculpture Workshop with Waste Education WA and a local artist inspiring youth to design their own sculpture out of recycled materials. The activity is run over two days, January 8 and 9 from 9am to 1pm at the Capel Community Centre. The workshops cost $20 for the two days, with materials included and lunch provided. The youth are asked to bring in items from home that are not being used anymore, or recyclable items, like milk cartons, cans and cardboard boxes to build into their sculpture. The sculptures will then be entered into a regional competition, displayed in the library and presented at a local event. The workshop is open to 10 to 17 year olds. Registrations are essential.
ADVENTURE WORLD – January 17
The youth in the Shire always look forward to the annual summer trip to Adventure World and with a new ride just opened, it is sure to be a lot of fun.
